Rich Petke, NMD
In addition to pediatrics, Dr. Rich sees children and adults with diabetes and works with them to manage their diabetes through diet, medications, and, if needed, insulin. His goal is not just acceptable "A1c" values but giving diabetics a meaningful life worth living. Dr. Rich loves challenges! Strange, rare, and peculiar conditions are most welcome in the practice. But Dr. Rich was not always a physician; in fact you might be surprised to learn that his BS degree is in Computer Science from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. He worked for many years in the field of computers and communications engineering; he even wrote some of the specifications for the Internet. Dr. Rich has had a variety of hobbies over the years including beekeeping. There is nothing sweeter than fresh honey comb from a hive, but it can be quite a pain to get to it! He is also a semi-professional "story-teller" and enjoys telling tall tales at times. Dr. Rich is an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America. Through scouting Dr. Rich has worked with hundreds of adolescents, as a local unit leader, a district and council volunteer, and as a national and international leader. (Brief Curriculum Vitae and a list of the modalities used by Dr. Rich in his practice.) Sara Hazel, ND
Carol Conti, RT, CTT
After nearly 40 years as a Radiologic Technologist and Mammographer, Carol took a huge leap-of-faith and founded Northern Arizona Thermal Imaging in April, 2009. In July, 2009, Carol's own breast Thermogram detected a "suspicious" change. While her subsequent digital mammogram showed nothing, a breast Ultrasound did spot what turned out to be a very aggressive cancer. This really brought home the significant value of Thermal Imaging as the best tool for the earliest detection of cancer. Carol was named as the 2011 Trailblazer of the year from the Sedona / Verde Valley Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, (NAWBO), for leaving the world of corporate medicine and starting her own "alternative" medical imaging business. Carol is a well respected Mammographer nationally as well as here in Arizona, and now, as a Thermographer, she hopes to elevate Medical Thermography to be the new gold standard in early detection and prevention.
